Branding & Story
I Made My Own Theme Music With AI. Of Course I Did.
There are moments in this work where something clicks so completely that you wonder why you waited.
This was one of those mornings.
It started, as a lot of things do, with someone else’s idea. I was scrolling LinkedIn and came across a post from someone who had used AI to create original music for an ad. He walked through how he did it — the tools, the process, the result.
I read it once. Maybe twice.
And then I thought: I can do that.
So I did.
Here’s what you should know about me before I tell you the rest of this story.
I am a classically trained pianist. A vocalist who has spent years performing the repertoire of artists like Linda Ronstadt, Barbra Streisand, and Stevie Nicks. And a Cantor with sixteen years of liturgical music experience.
Music is not a hobby for me. It is not background noise. It is one of the languages I think in.
Which means when I sat down to make AI-generated theme music for The Smart Stack, I had opinions. Very specific ones. About feel and tone and what I absolutely did not want it to sound like.
That turned out to be an advantage.
Here’s how the morning went.
First stop: Claude. I needed lyrics — short, sweet, true to what The Smart Stack actually is and does. We worked on them together until they said exactly what I wanted them to say. Nothing extra. Nothing fluffy. Just the feeling of a quick win, of clarity, of moving forward.
Then I took those lyrics to Suno with a very specific style prompt. Warm female vocalist. Jazz-influenced. Piano-driven. Acoustic guitar, bass, light brushed drums. The kind of thing Norah Jones or early Diana Krall might inhabit. Sophisticated and soulful. Empowering and intimate. Absolutely not pop. Absolutely not bubblegum.
Suno gave me multiple versions. I listened to all of them with the ears of someone who has been listening to music her whole life. I picked the one that felt right.
And then — because of course — I took it to Agent Opus and made a video.
When I showed people what I’d made, the reaction was pretty consistent.
First: genuine surprise that AI could produce something that actually sounded like music worth listening to.
Then, when I explained that I had written the lyrics, specified the style down to the instrumentation, chosen from multiple versions, and then turned the whole thing into a branded video — a slight shake of the head and a smile.
Of course you did.
And here’s the thing. They’re not wrong.
Because this is exactly what I teach. You bring yourself to the tool. Your taste, your judgment, your decades of knowing what good sounds like. The AI handles the production. You own everything that made it worth producing.
I didn’t make that music despite being a musician. I made it because I’m a musician — because I knew exactly what I wanted and I knew when I heard it.
That’s not a story about AI. That’s a story about clarity before tools.
The theme music for The Smart Stack exists because I read one LinkedIn post and thought I can do that.
You have something like that sitting in your head right now. Something you’ve been watching other people do, wondering if it’s really possible, talking yourself out of trying.
It probably is possible.
And it probably won’t take as long as you think.
