By the Time You Read This, I'm Already in the Room
This morning — the same morning this post lands in your inbox — I’m delivering a training for Biz Net Sparks, a virtual global business networking organization supporting entrepreneurs worldwide.
And I have Claude to thank for how prepared I feel walking in.
Here’s exactly how that preparation happened, because I think it’s going to change how you think about what AI can actually do for you.
I Didn’t Start From Scratch
I already had a workshop. A good one. Built for my people — women entrepreneurs and solopreneurs, most of them 55 and over, navigating AI for the first time.
But this audience was different. Global entrepreneurs. Different experience levels, different industries, different contexts entirely.
So I didn’t open a blank document and start over. I brought what I already had to Claude and said: here’s my existing workshop — let’s make it work for this audience.
That shift alone is something I want you to sit with. Because one of the biggest misconceptions about AI is that it’s a creation tool. You use it to make new things. But some of the most powerful work I do with Claude is bringing something that already exists and saying — help me see this differently.
I Asked Claude to Update Me
Part of my process — and this is non-negotiable for me — is staying current. AI moves fast. What was true when I built my original workshop might have evolved, and I needed to know that before walking into a room of global entrepreneurs doing a live demo, sharing my screen in real time.
So I asked Claude directly: what’s changed or been updated since I created this? Is there anything new I need to know?
That’s Claude as a living knowledge check. Not just a content tool, not just a writing assistant — a way to make sure you’re not walking into a room with last year’s information. Or last week’s. (In AI, that’s not a joke.)
Then I Asked Claude to Ask Me Questions
This is the part that I think will surprise you most.
Before we dove into reworking the workshop, I asked Claude to ask me qualifying questions. To make sure we were on the same page before we started. To surface anything I hadn’t thought to mention.
And it did. Questions I hadn’t fully considered. Questions that sharpened my thinking before I’d written a single new word.
Here’s why that matters: most people go to AI with answers they want confirmed. I’ve learned to go to Claude with questions I haven’t asked myself yet. The difference in what comes back is significant.
Showing Up 150%
I go into every room the same way — fully prepared, fully present, giving everything I have. That doesn’t change based on the size of the audience or the circumstances leading up to it.
What’s changed is how I prepare. Claude doesn’t just help me create content. It helps me think more clearly, stay current, and walk into rooms knowing I haven’t left anything on the table.
That’s not a tool. That’s a competitive advantage.
Want to Try This Yourself?
Next time you have a presentation, a meeting, a proposal — don’t start from scratch and don’t wing it.
Bring what you already have to Claude. Ask it to help you see your existing work through a new lens. Ask it what’s changed. And ask it to ask you questions.
Then see how you feel walking into the room.
